Royal Salute The Coronation of King Charles III Edition
This special-edition Royal Salute The Coronation was created to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in 2023. Drawing inspiration from the location and its connection with the British royal family, the beautifully presented decanter encapsulates the gothic beauty of the church with colourful symbols associated with the Kings and Queens of England.
The year 2023 is also special for Royal Salute as it marks the 70th anniversary of this iconic brand. Royal Salute was first introduced in 1953 as a gift to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, so it is more than suitable that this limited expression is a blend of 53 different whiskies, representing the year 1953.
The blend was finished for two years in first-fill oloroso sherry casks, creating aromas of homemade strawberry jam, dark chocolate praline and fresh redcurrants. The palate offers notes of sticky rich toffee and figs, poached pears, hazelnut chocolate and festive spices. A great whisky to toast to on any special celebratory occasion.
